I was just hoping for something a little more curvy. Or, as the kids say, "ergonomic". Still, if it ups my chances of knowing somebody who owns one, then all hail.
Yeah, I agree that it can feel a little conflicted as to what it seems to want to be. However, it's generally presented as just an inside look at this one guy's life experiences and he happens to be a guy who was smack in the middle of a whole lot. So you get a little bit about seatbelts and a little about the missile crisis and a little about Vietnam. I'd say the funniest thing for our age group though is for us he's just this historical figure from right before our awareness. Our parents however have very definite opinions on the man, though. I still can't wait to sit down and watch it with my folks.

I hear you, that was fast-forward material at my house too. It keeps getting mentioned that Joss Wheadon wrote it, as if it's a boon to not have an actual professional musician write the damn thing.
I thought Fog of War was really interesting and informative, but I just didn't think it worked well as a movie. I still can't tell if it was supposed to be about McNamara's life, or war, or a slice of American culture from back when. The Cuban missle crisis stuff was really good then, all of a sudden, we're talking about him trying to get seatbelts into cars when he was working at Ford. Then we're talking about Vietnam, then WWII, then back to Vietnam. Felt kinda like the producer and/or director wanted to make a biopic and a documentary so he just confusedly crammed them both in there.
Don't get me wrong, the insight he had was really amazing, it just felt like it changed gears too many times for me to get overly engaged.

It is absolutely the goodness. Definitely has that Bebop thing, except for that atrocious theme song. Whenever we watch it, we watch the little episode opener, then when the theme plays I fast forward and start up the "Da-dat da-dat da-dat da-dat! Doom doo doo doom doo doo..." Bebop shit. That's how you get things going. Also, I like that the crew of the Serenity actually gets their jobs done and earns their pay, unlike the crew of some other ship of bounty hunters/smugglers.

We'll see. Nobody knows for absolute certain what the announcement's gonna be, but that's the pretty sure bet. Then there's going to be the question of street date.
