CRASH GOES THE SERVER
Category: Tech

Well, the server was going down repeatedly, so it was decided to take it away from where it was and to bring it somewhere where we could keep a keen eye on it at all times and maybe glean the cause of the outtages. Of course, it wasn't too hard. The moment we got it back and turned it on, the reason became quite obvious: the CPU fan sounded like a lawnmower being pulled across Ian's mom's hairy boosh. So we switched it out and here we are.

In the course of the move the IP address of the site changed, so its going to be a while before the DNS change spreads across the interweb, allowing all of you glorious people to visit my humble little home. In the meantime, I'll probably just leave this post up untill everyone checks in.

In other news, I still haven't begun my beer and wine brewing extravaganza. I'm still teetering back and forth over wether to thrown down a decent chunk of change for a whole "brewing rig" type thing, or shoe string it (i.e. steal a kentwood bottle, use a garden hose, bottle it with my teeth).

Those of you out here that have done it, who went the store bought kit way, and who went the "clandestine alcoholic" way?

What is this? A coming out party?
I work right next to a Burger King..kinda sucks 'cause I quit eating there quite a while back..but now, I've given in to the only convenient place to get to from work. Their sour dough bacon burger is pretty good...'cept for the part where it's a BK burger.
Congrats, Suz, I guess..
-eat some crackers before you get out of bed in the morning, just a couple anyhow.

I have a spare kentwood bottle. If you can swallow your pride enough to do it, go to your local Burger King and ask them if they have any empty five gallon food buckets. All of the rest of the equipment can be purchased for about $30 (including the $15 capper). Add $25 for an ingredients kit from Brew Ha Ha and you have a complete 5 gallon setup for $55. Not that I'm pressuring you to get started or anything.

No we didn't, it would have been nice but Jason didn't happen to be working at the gas station/drive through coffee place we did it at. And you're right, all the prizes are great. We are thinking of renewing our vows next week to keep the cash streak running.

Congrats on the nuptuals.. Just wait until the cash and prizes start rolling in. Not that that is what it's all about, but free stuff is the shizzle dizzle!

i'm a fan of the kit abita sells. you lay down just a few dollars and in return you get the bottles, labels, and caps. and how long do you have to wait? as long as it takes you to open the bottle.

yeah, i had the same type of thing but you really don't get an assload of beer. if you're going to wait 2 to 3 weeks for beers it should be an assload. just my opinion i've got the aids.

I bought a Mr. Beer kit for around 50 bucks:

http://www.mrbeer.com/

That's sort of an in-between. You can get a kit with all the fixin's, but it isn't all fancy and won't cost you an arm and a leg.
