Some of you may already be familiar with Natalie Dee, but for the uninitiated, here's a quick crash course: one funny bitch.
She's basically a Gen-Y kid with marginal MS Paint skills and a love of hotdogs that goes beyond explanation. She uses these skills to craft some of the most quotable, sometimes hilariously distasteful, one frame "comics" I've ever bore witness to. She's also got a rather large bug up her ass about using her images and such in any fashion without her expressed permission which I why I don't have an example of her quaint drawing style being displayed alongside this post. I don't need any more trouble.
Here's a few classics (in my humble opinion):
To continue, I've been a fan for a while now, and have even gotten Scott and his ilk interested to the point where there were considering dropping some change for one of her paintings before it got snatched up (it was the hotdog eating the hotdog if you must know.) Like everyone on the web these days, she's also got t-shirts, buttons, postcards, etc available for purchase, that capitalist pig.
Which brings me to the impetus for writing posting about her. I wrote a little script that scrapes her page for comics and news posts and generates a little RSS feed for her site: clickity. If you don't know what an RSS feed is, the short and quick of it is that it's basically a little text stream that certain programs, sometimes called aggregators, can use to tell you when web sites have been updated. Some may say that writing a script that will let me know when a daily comic is updated is a fine waste of time and energy, but it was more an exercise in coding for me than anything else.
Also, feel free to download the actual php script here, but beware, my code is quite spaghettilicious.
