Envy Me

Well, I'm about to embark on my much needed vacation. Its been well over 4 years since I've left this state on vacation, granted Florida isn't what one would consider "leaving Louisiana", but guess what, fuck you, I'm going to the beach!
Not only am I going to the beach, but we also have rented a house/condo with it's own pool and such amenities. Of course, I may get there and it is a dump, but if the pictures hold true, it seems like I'll be having a pretty eff'in good time. A little sun, a little sex, a little booze, a little narcotics, a little of everything.
As Brian Denehey once said of Chris Farely, "He consumed too much of life," I hope to follow in the same footprints.... except not be fat.
Now, I know what you're saying. You're saying, "glitch, or whatever your dorky online name is, why do you feel you need to keep me up to par with your day to day life?" Well, my friend, I don't. I just wanted to rub it in all of your punk BITCH FACES!!! HAR HAR!!!! I'm GOING TO THE BEACH!!! AND TO THE POOL!!! AND TO THE CONDO!!! AND TO THE BATHROOM IN THE CONDO!!! AND IT HAS A KITCHEN!!! AND STUFF ALONG THESE LINES!!!!
Ok, enough of that. I hope it cuts all of you real deep. Except for Foo, who got me a job. Don't feel bad, you make much more than me. You beat me in many categories, EXCEPT FOR THE GOING TO THE BEACH CATEGORY!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok, I'm over it, really. PSYCH!!!! JUST KIDDING!!!! I R00L AND ALL OF YOU ARE FOOLS!!!!
Ok, I own and all, but you guys are great. PSYCH!!!
And don't forget,
I'VE HAD THE CP

Mr. Happy-Go-To-Work-Man

Well, I am once again on the straight and narrow. I have achieved employment once more. I wish I could say that, like John, have risen like the phoenix from the ashes of being laid off, but that would be false. Its more like this quivering lump of unemployed medical refuse was grasped and ripped from the ashes and thrown back into the air by someone who must be the best damned salesmen on the planet. I mean, hell, he sold me for christsakes. And his boss bought it, hook, like and sinker.
Not to say that it was a con job, but you know, a person can't write about themselves without delving into a little bit of self-ego-mutilation. Its just how journaling works.
The clincher is that I pulled the "I'm going to be out of town at the end of this week," so I was able to hook up starting on Tuesday so that I can still go on vacation. Shazam. within two weeks I've been laid off, had a little time off from work as a side effect, got a vacation and a new fucking jizzob! I WIN!

You Look the Way I Feel

I believe unemployment has run it's course. I am no longer satisfied to sit around the house contemplating my next move -- its about time to make that next move. I'm having a sort of conflict about how to go about it though. You see, I've had a vacation planned for over two months now, just a weekend and a few extraneous days before it, an am wondering on how I should broach this.
My original plan, and I suppose the one I'm still operating under, had me landing a job and not starting until after I get back. I think asking for a vacation in one week upon getting hired would look kind of bad, so I'm thinking this would be the best way of going about it. That is of course, unless its not an option, in which case I'll just have to abandon my plans (fuck).
The picture of The Dude, from The Big Lebowski, probably conjures up images of me sitting around, drinking white russians and bowling, but such is not the case. While my drinking has increased (in regularity, not amount) by having a couple beers a day, I don't think I've even gotten drunk since the day I get laid off. And I haven't been bowling, but I have been playing my fair share of Jedi Knight II.
The little lady has been going to work more often in the last week, but still not with the regularity one would expect from the girlfriend of a recently laid off guy who plans to go on a vacation with her in the coming weeks. I also had to pay rent the week I was let go, I have a lunch planned with my mother for mother's day, and I still need insurance for my bike. Well, I hope that depressed you as thoroughly as it depresses me on a daily basis, but I digress.
Actually, that's about it for my current status in the world. Unemployed and not lovin' it. Most of the time I've been out of work before I've enjoyed it to a certain extent. I would suppose it was because up until now, not all of my friends worked nine to fivers on weekdays so I at least had someone to kill time with if I so chose. Well, its about time I got back to procrastinating about calling people for jobs. Have fun kiddies, and work and extra shift, just for me.
